“These stark works are challenging, confrontational, and thought provoking as each image captures a moment of stalled anticipation. The subject experiences the deficiency of the human body and attempts to distance herself from the pain and discomfort she associates with her body. The works are dark, brooding, feminine, and sensual all the while representing physical pain and discomfort and the attempted escape thereof.”
